| Paddle |
| Paddle is the only
sport that combines the best elements of tennis, racquetball and squash.
It´s usually practised on cement surfaces, but you can also find courts
covered in artificial grass. Paddle is played in specialised clubs. There are
clubs with just one court, and others with over 20 covered courts (Courts can
be covered or open air). |

único deporte que combina los mejores elementos del tenis, raquetball y
squash. Se practica frecuentemente sobre superficies de cemento, pero existen
canchas con suelos de césped sintético. El Paddle se juega casi
en su totalidad en clubes exclusivos de este deporte. Existen clubes de una
sola cancha, hasta complejos de 20 canchas cubiertas (las canchas pueden ser
cubiertas o descubiertas). |

| Paddle was created in
Acapulco, Mexico, by Enrique Corchera in 1969, who adapted the ground of his
field of 20 x 10 m, building walls at the back and sides. The internacional
Jet-set , with the help of Alfonso of Hohenlohe, took it to Marbella, to show
it to the rest of Spain. A social sport and a commercial "boom" were created,
never before reached with another sport in Spain. |

long by 10 m wide, with walls of 3 m tall and 4 m each side. |
| Metallic netting
surrounds the court. The net and the ball are similar to the ones used in
tennis. |

Acapulco, México, por Enrique Corcuera en 1969, quien adaptó un
terreno de su finca de 20 x 10 m colocando paredes en sus fondos y laterales.
La Jet-set internacional, de la mano de Alfonso de Hohenlohe, lo llevó a
Marbella, para luego trasladarlo al resto de España. Se produce un
"boom" deportivo, social y comercial nunca antes alcanzado por deporte
alguno. |

tiene 20 m de largo por 10 m de ancho, con paredes en sus fondos y laterales (4
m de lado) de 3 m de altura. |
| Una malla o tela
metálica bordea el resto del perímetro. La red y la pelota son
similares a las utilizadas en tenis. |

| The raquets, 45 cm long
with a weight of 450 grams, can be made of various materials (wood, rubber,
graphite), with holes of up to 12 mm and a cushioned grip. The game is only
played in pairs, with three sets (the scoring is the same as in tennis). The
serve is crossed and it has to be served from below the waist. |

grafito, etc.), con agujeros de hasta 12 mm y un grip acolchado. Se juega
únicamente en parejas, a tres sets (puntos iguales que en tenis). El
saque es cruzado y se debe impactar por debajo de la cintura. |
